The Cask of Amontillado
Adding onto the part, there is themes in the story and it's revenge in a way Fortunato had been against with offenses and insult to Montresor.

the Lady or the Tiger
I think the major literacy device that was used was conflicts throughout the story, and there are 3 major event that I think it relates to as a conflict within main 2characters, and 1st conflict was that when King's Daughter and the Comner was found in front of her father. Second is when the princess knew all about what will be behind from each door, and sent signal with her eyes to him that which door he should choose to open. And for the last, when he was in situation of either being eaten by tiger or be married to other woman again. And from all these conflicts, you can understand how the literacy devices can reveal the story out more.

Ghazal
By Jin Lee
I wanted to see you only for once,
Why don't you meet me for only for once,
How long haven't we seen each other a while,
Can I meet you to talk only for once,
I'm thirst of your appearance, voice, smell, hands,
Days spent, can we meet up only for once,
I can only think of your smiling face,
Your sweet mouth, please kiss me only for once,
I miss you more than anything for me,
Just want your tight warm hug only for once.

My ODE
The world today depends on one little coin,
with a paper, light as tissue and it's everything of all
it partials the people into groups of have and have nots.
This coins and papers can do anything for us,
but the thing it brings to family and friends of ours is only the minus.
Anyone who see piles of papers lying on the table,
it will turn them into evil.
However, there is two things which cannot be price,
ourselves, love and listen for God's advice.
Because at the ultimate day, it matters how much you gave,
not how much you saved and have.

Blank verse poem
Arimies marching towards the frontline by,
Covered in worst anxiety of the war,
Hoping for survival and return home,
Standing next to trenches to hide out guns
As if they were playing hide and seek with,
Boom, Boom, Boom, shells arriving on their sides
Only thing that goes through their minds will be,
Killing one more of their enemies before
Dying from the enemies' bullets going through their hearts
Crashing the hopes to see his family once again.
Free verse poem
Burining lights shining the crust,
of desert, green land upon them
Glowing the earth with its last chance
of the day, to give a little bit of energy
The orangy sky quickly shifts to darkness,
seem as though no man's land
still feeling the touch of the warmness
from the sun past like seconds ago,
Wating for sun to rise for another day as usual,
that will be on top of everyone shine us all.

Do not go crazy with the dance
by Jin Lee
Do not go crazy with the dance,
Teenagers bump out and get near to place
Shake, shake with the others close to enterance,
Everyone below light should glance
At the front of the gate tickets outrace
Do not go crazy with dance,
Someone, gets into my focus and advance
Coming closer front of my bootlace
Shake, shake with others close to enterance,
Anyone, needs partner in romance
Sprint and meet my face
Do not go crazy with the dance,
Only one, would take the chance
But keep the turn with my pace
From the first club I ever stance
Make the best move as in your trance
So you can do the best of ace
Do not go crazy with the dance.
Shake, shake with others close to entrance.
Do not go gentle into that good night | |
by Dylan Thomas | |
Old age should burn and rave at close of day B
Rage, rage against the dying of the light A
Though wise men at their end know dark is right A
Because their words had forked no lightning they B
Do not go gentle into that good night A
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright A
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay B
Rage, rage against the dying of the light A
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight A
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way B
Do not go gentle into that good night A
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight A
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay B
Rage, rage against the dying of the light A
And you, my father, there on the sad height A
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray B
Do not go gentle into that good night A
Rage, rage against the dying of the light A
sonnet
Shakespearean SonnetThat thereby beauty's rose might never die,
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory:
But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes,
Feed'st thy light's flame with self-substantial fuel,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe,
Thou that art now the world's fresh ornament
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buriest thy content
And, tender churl,
Pity the world,
To eat the world's due,
Fainting with interest, I hungered back
and only the fact of her husband & four other people
kept me from springing on her
or falling at her little feet and crying
'You are the hottest one for years of night
Henry's dazed eyes
have enjoyed, Brilliance.' I advanced upon
(despairing) my spumoni.--Sir Bones: is stuffed,
de world, wif feeding girls.
-Black hair, complexion Latin, jewelled eyes
downcast . . . The slob beside her feasts . . .
she sitting on, over there?
The restaurant buzzes. She might as well be on Mars.
Where did it all go wrong? There ought to be a law against Henry.
-Mr. Bones: there is.
Analysis
About the way message is given is bit differentthat shakespearean has a style of narrative, but modern day seems like personal novel, I can sensethat Shakespearean describes in more detail tryingto make the reader feel more deeply, when modern day seems more to give voice of the author's toneand the mood of the sonnet.I can hardly find any of the rhymes in modern day while I can seesome in the Shakespearean, in their it has end rhymes that repeats the same sounds, but i think there are rhythmes in the modern day, as it's more casual, it flows within the structure of the sentence.Line numbers are supposed to be 19, and it is. It's a significantrule for this poem. However, i wasn't able to find out about numberof syllable patterns in lines.Pictures i have chosen has feelings that represents in each poem, because in my poem Shakespearean style has warm deem feelings fromthe texts, but modern day style has light blue atmosphere through the meanings it's giving.Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Ballad
Contemporary Cowboy
Now awake and rapidly turned
The illuminations, became attuned
Partially listening to details why
Why to exist and why extra populace die
Wore his top and cover
Risked to the plain rear on dirty path
Another daylight of hunt lacking a extensive chase
Considering on by view
The tendency, false, delusion every extraordinarily bole
Varied by the wasteland warmth and the night’s cold
Contemporary cowboy awaken up tomorrow and say
I am superior for another valuable day
Modern Cowboy |
Just woke up and quickly turned
The lights and radio, became attuned
Partly listening to explanations why
Why to live and why other people die
Last night dream joined the fragmented team
Glimpse of reality well inside the main stream
Back in the coach, brown leather saddle
The horse, the groovy MPV the struggle
Wore his Stetson hat and friendly mask
Ventured to the prairie back on dusty track
Another day of chase without a substantial hunt
Contemplating on near future and an imagined past
Back in town stepped back on sandy soil
The one he trod with phony legs
Not really certain what comes or happens next
Regressed back to the ranch to hoarder’s nest
The trend, fake, illusion all remarkably bold
Mixed with the desert heat and the night’s cold
Modern cowboy will wake up tomorrow and say
I am good and ready for another precious day

Boring Story (Peter Kim)
I woke up this splendid morning. I wanted to sleep more like until 12.00. But I had to wake up unfortunately. I took a warm quick shower. I brushed my filthy teeth. I washed my greasy hair. I finished my shower in just 10 minutes. I put on my brand new clothes on which I bought yesterday, and brushed my winkled hair. I packed my bag with full of textbooks and cleaned my stinky room before I leave for school. I closed the door and went out for breakfast in school. I ate the dead bean sprout soup with scruffy rice. I was full and drank a cup of fresh juice. I went to busy class. It was chemistry experiment class. It was so boring. We did a presentation in class, but it was boring too. The next class, it was band musical class. I play alto saxophone, but I’m really bad at it. The next class, it was fitness class. We were assigned a machine where we have to measure our footsteps. Next was tremendous lunch. It was good with hamburgers with chips. Next class was worst lesson of the day, Geometry, because I didn’t do my homework, so I was scolded. Last class of the day was interesting English class. It was fun because we did games as a class. After school, I went straight back to the Blanchard dorm. I played Wii with my friends in the dorm, the game we played was called Mario Cart. Then I went outside for dinner at school to eat Sam-Gyup-Sal. Then I played some games on my computer, it was World of Warcraft. Then I studied in study hall to work on my English and Geometry homework for tomorrow. Finally, I went bed to have a sweet dream. This is my everyday life in Blanchard dorm.
